Sowar Magazine’s Re-launch: A few updates

We’re back! It’s been a lengthy journey moving Sowar Magazine from Beirut to Boston but we’re finally set up and ready to rock. Our re-launch issue will be published in the next couple of weeks and we’re super excited about it – so stay tuned for that.

There are several updates regarding the magazine which we’d like to share.

First, in an effort to reduce paper waste, save on inventory costs, and become “greener,” we have shifted to a print-on-demand (POD) model. This means that unlike the traditional magazine model, we will not be pre-printing hard copies of the magazine in large batches anymore. Instead, we will be publishing hard copies only when they’re ordered. To you the reader, this means that the magazine will be slightly more expensive, and that it will take significantly more time to reach you. However, the good news is that you can view the entire issues online for free (yup, 100% free), and only print it when you’re interested in owning a hard copy.

Second, we have shifted from a bi-monthly schedule to a quarterly one. Although we don’t have a standard publishing schedule as of yet, we will be publishing the magazine nearly every 3 months.

Third, we’re now all over the web and plugged into your favorite social media sites. We’d love to hear from you so make sure you find us on Facebook, follow us on Twitter, or subscribe our Blog.

As always, we look forward to your comments and feedback.
